Dr. Rajasekhar Kanthaswamy

Dr. Rajasekhar is a General Surgeon with a passion for quality & safety, business excellence and healthcare management.

He graduated from Trivandrum Medical College, India in 1988 and completed his residency in General Surgery from Kasturba Medical College, India in 1992.

He has more than 30 years of clinical experience and has been practicing in Dubai since 1997. He has worked in Aster Clinic (Dr. Moopen Polyclinic, Deira), Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, Mediclinic Al Sufouh and Mediclinic Ibn Battuta. He has over 9 years of administrative experience as Medical Director of Mediclinic Ibn Battuta, Dubai. He has also served as Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of General Surgery, in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, India.

He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. He has a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) and a postgraduate diploma in hospital management. He is also a certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ) and a certified professional coder (CPC) with lean six-sigma green belt certification. He is BLS and ACLS certified.

He is a life member of ‘Indian Medical Association’ and ‘World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons’ and ‘Association of Surgeons of India’. He is also a member of ‘National Association of Healthcare Quality’ and ‘American Academy of Professional Coders’.
