Dr. V J Sebastian
Cardiologist
Dr. Sebastian is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist with over 40 years of experience in four distinct nations, regions, and demographic groups. He has held positions in the Ministry of Health in Brunei, Darussalam, and the National Health Service in the United Kingdom. He received additional training in internal medicine and cardiology in the UK after receiving his primary medical degree in India. For his academic accomplishments, he received an All-India Merit Scholarship.
He received fellowships from the three Royal Colleges in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, as well as the Irish Royal College. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiologists. He received his specialty training in cardiology at the National Heart Institute Malaysia, National University Hospital Singapore, Wisconsin Heart Centre, London Chest Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital London, and St. Mary’s Hospital. His area of expertise is hypertension, and at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA, he received specialized training in the subject.
He held employment in the UK and Brunei, Darussalam before moving to Dubai. His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei presented him with an “excellent service award” while he was working there.
Dr. Sebastian participated in the Asia-Pacific Society of Hypertension and ASEAN Federation of Cardiology expert panels. He was appointed as the Singapore Heart Journal’s Guest Editor. He was principally in charge of founding the first comprehensive heart centre in the UAE’s private sector.
He was chosen as an examiner for both the final MBBS examination of DOMS and the final MRCP (UK) test of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK, Ireland, and Great Britain.
He has several publications to his name and has delivered several papers at conferences throughout the world.
